The White Moscow Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is an elegant and refined guppy variety admired for its pure, iridescent white coloration and shimmering metallic sheen. This strain is part of the Moscow line of guppies, known for their solid, uniform colors that extend from head to tail. The White Moscow stands out for its clean, pearl-like appearance—almost glowing under aquarium lighting—and its long, graceful fins that give it a sophisticated, gliding presence in the tank.

Adult males typically reach around 1.5 inches (3.5–4 cm) and exhibit the brightest, most reflective white coloration, while females grow up to 2.5 inches (6 cm) and have a slightly softer, translucent tone. The combination of purity and simplicity makes this guppy variety an eye-catching yet peaceful addition to community setups.

Ideal water parameters:
Temperature: 72–82°F (22–28°C)
pH: 7.0–8.0
Hardness: 8–20 dGH

Tank setup: A 10-gallon or larger aquarium with stable, clean water and gentle filtration is ideal. The White Moscow’s coloration looks best against darker substrates or backgrounds, which emphasize its luminous white tone. Provide live plants like Anubias, Java Fern, or Hornwort for cover and to help maintain water quality. Floating plants create a sense of security and shelter for fry.

Diet: White Moscow Guppies are omnivores that thrive on a balanced diet of high-quality flakes or micro-pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms. Occasional vegetable-based foods—such as spirulina flakes or blanched spinach—help maintain health, coloration, and fin quality.

Temperament and tankmates: They are peaceful, social, and active community fish. Ideal tankmates include platies, mollies, endlers, tetras, rasboras, and corydoras. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species that may damage their flowing fins. Since they are livebearers, females give birth every 4–6 weeks, so dense vegetation or breeding boxes will protect fry from predation.

In summary, the White Moscow Guppy is a graceful, serene, and visually stunning aquarium fish that radiates purity and elegance. With its shimmering white body, gentle demeanor, and easy-care nature, it makes an excellent choice for aquarists seeking both beauty and tranquility in their freshwater tank.
