PEACOCK MOSS
PEACOCK MOSS
Peacock Moss (Taxiphyllum sp. ‘Peacock’) is a stunning and versatile freshwater plant prized for its feather-like fronds that resemble a peacock’s tail. This moss adds rich texture and a deep green color to aquariums, making it ideal for aquascaping and natural setups. It grows in soft, branching layers that look beautiful attached to rocks, driftwood, or mesh, creating lush carpets, cascading walls, or tree-like structures.
Care Tips:
Peacock Moss thrives in cool to moderate temperatures (68–78°F) and prefers gentle water flow with stable parameters. It does well under low to medium light, though stronger lighting and CO₂ will enhance its growth and color. Trim it regularly to keep it dense and prevent overgrowth, which helps maintain good water circulation.
Like most mosses, it’s an excellent choice for shrimp and fry tanks, offering safe hiding spots and surfaces for biofilm and algae to grow. Simply attach it using fishing line or aquarium-safe glue, and within a few weeks, it will naturally anchor itself.
