The Leopard Ctenopoma is a truly unique freshwater fish with a pattern that looks just like a leopard. Their beautiful spotted bodies, large eyes, and slow, stealthy movements make them a fascinating centerpiece for larger aquariums. They’re closely related to gouramis and bettas, but have a personality all their own.

These fish are calm and curious, often spending the day slowly exploring plants, driftwood, and rockwork before becoming more active around feeding time. They can even learn to recognize the person who feeds them.

Leopard Ctenopomas enjoy aquariums with plenty of driftwood, plants, and hiding places along with open areas to swim. They do well with peaceful to semi-aggressive fish that are too large to fit in their mouths. Very small fish may eventually be seen as food.

Feed a quality carnivore pellet along with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, krill, shrimp, earthworms, and other meaty foods. A varied diet will help keep them healthy and bring out their natural coloration.
