10 ASSORTED RAMSHORN SNAILS
10 ASSORTED RAMSHORN SNAILS
Assorted Ramshorn Snails (Planorbidae family) are hardy, active freshwater snails that come in a mix of beautiful shell colors such as red, blue, pink, brown, and leopard-patterned varieties. Their coiled, ram’s-horn-shaped shells make them easy to recognize and a charming addition to any aquarium.
They typically grow to about 1 inch and are excellent tank cleaners, feeding on algae, leftover food, and decaying plant matter. Ramshorns are fully plant-safe when well-fed, though they may nibble on dying leaves. They’re great for planted tanks and community setups with shrimp, Corydoras, and small peaceful fish.
Ideal conditions include a temperature of 72–82°F and a pH around 7.0–8.0. They reproduce readily in freshwater by laying small, clear egg clusters on glass, plants, or decorations, so populations can grow quickly if food is abundant. To control numbers, limit excess feeding or introduce natural snail predators (like assassin snails or certain loaches) if needed.
Ramshorn Snails benefit from calcium-rich water to maintain strong, healthy shells. Supplement their diet with algae wafers, sinking pellets, or blanched vegetables when algae levels are low. With their variety of colors, useful cleaning habits, and easy care, Assorted Ramshorn Snails add both function and visual interest to any freshwater aquarium.
